ServicesGender Affirming Voice Therapy
Explore a voice that feels authentic, expressive, and truly your own through greater freedom, flexibility, and ease.
— What Is Voice Therapy?Find your voice. Unlock vocal freedom.
Gender-affirming voice therapy, also called transgender voice therapy or gender-affirming voice training, helps you explore changes in pitch, resonance, vocal quality, prosody, and other aspects of communication so your voice feels more aligned with your gender identity.
Whether you’re interested in voice feminization, voice masculinization, or a more androgynous voice, therapy can help you build greater range, flexibility, and control while supporting healthy vocal function.
My approach is not about teaching you one “correct” way to sound feminine, masculine, or androgynous. Instead, we build the vocal skills and flexibility that give you more choices, then explore which of those choices feel most natural, comfortable, and authentically yours.
Gender Affirming Voice Therapy may include:
Exploring pitch and resonance
Building coordination for higher or lower speaking pitches
Reducing unnecessary tension and effort
Developing greater vocal range and flexibility
Exploring prosody, intonation, and vocal expression
Experimenting with communication patterns that feel more congruent with your identity
My approach integrates clinical voice therapy with a body-led lens to help you build a voice that feels more aligned, expressive, and sustainable, not just in how it sounds, but in how it feels to use.
If your voice feels disconnected from who you are, or you’re working hard to create a sound that doesn’t yet feel easy or natural, we can explore a different way forward.
— My ApproachVoice training that works with your body, not against it.
I start with the voice you want to explore and the qualities that matter to you. From there, we work with your individual voice and anatomy to develop greater flexibility, coordination, and expressive choice.
Rather than simply asking you to speak higher, lower, brighter, or darker, we build the underlying skills that make those changes easier and more sustainable. My background in both clinical voice therapy and singing allows us to explore pitch, resonance, breath, vocal range, head voice, mixed voice, and expression with curiosity rather than force.
Sessions may include:
Expanding your comfortable vocal range
Exploring pitch and resonance
Building coordination for different speaking qualities
Reducing unnecessary tension and effort
Developing greater flexibility and expressive range
Experimenting with voices and qualities you admire
The goal is not to reproduce someone else’s voice, but to give you more possibilities within your own so you can find what feels authentic, comfortable, and aligned. If you’re ready to discover what feels possible in your voice, I’d love to support you.
— Who I Work WithFor people who want to feel at home in their voice.
I work best with people who are curious about what becomes possible when they stop forcing their voice and start exploring it with more freedom.
Often, that means reconnecting with ways of speaking or expressing yourself that have always felt natural, but that you may have learned to suppress. More pitch variation. More expression. More gesture. More ease. More permission to communicate in a way that feels like you.
Clients who benefit most from my work are often:
Open to exploring what feels authentic rather than a prescribed sound
Curious about pitch, resonance, expression, and greater vocal flexibility
Ready to reconnect with qualities they may have learned to suppress
Experiencing tension, effort, or strain from trying to maintain a voice that feels forced or difficult to sustain
Seeking more freedom and choice in how they communicate
Looking for a voice that feels healthy, sustainable, embodied, and aligned with their identity
While I welcome clients with a wide range of voice goals, those who are open to exploring their voice through curiosity, body awareness, and experimentation tend to feel most at home in our sessions.

“My voice has already improved in the two months I've worked with her.”
I do voice work with Anita. She's very pleasant to work with, and very knowledgeable. She explains the physiology of the mouth and throat as it relates to the production of sound. She has me do things that are interesting and within my ability. My voice has already improved in the two months I've worked with her. I can highly recommend her.

I work with a wide range of voice concerns, including muscle tension dysphonia, vocal nodules, chronic hoarseness, vocal fatigue, paradoxical vocal fold movement, and voice changes related to overuse or injury.

Voice therapy focuses on improving how your voice works — how it sounds, feels, and functions. Myofunctional therapy addresses patterns in the mouth, tongue, jaw, and breathing that may be contributing to tension or dysfunction. I often integrate both approaches to support long-term healing and more freedom in how your voice feels and performs.
